Quebec City Vacations

Quebec is the capital of the province of Quebec (where it is called the National Capital of the province). Much of the company here is administrative and bureaucratic, which should normally be a rather boring city. Fortunately, the city has a remarkable history, the fortress capital of New France since the 16th century. Although daily life, the city makes things a bit yawny sometimes live the historic center makes for an incredible visit.

Gracious Quebec stands on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, 150 kilometers east of Montreal. The only walled city north of Mexico celebrates its 400th anniversary in 2008. Visitors happily meanders of the old city on foot. Browse the shops along the Rue Saint-Louis, rue Saint-Jean, artists and small Champlain Alley, the oldest shopping street in North America. Citadel and the Tower of Canadian troops in military ceremonies. Admire the facades and towers of Chateau Frontenac large.

Quebec was first colonized by Europeans in 1608 in a room, "directed by Samuel de Champlain and celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2008. The generally accepted dates of the arrival of Champlain in the city are July 3 and 4 and were characterized for important celebrations. The area was inhabited by indigenous peoples for centuries before the arrival of Europeans, and their presence has been constant since then significant.
